About
Emma works between studios on the Isle of Wight and Oxfordshire. Many works are influenced by coastal and rural landscapes; and subjects along path, plimsoll, plumb and horizon lines; incorporating walking, pottery, sound, writing and collecting as part of her practice.
As a interdisciplinary artist, Emma perceives using multi sensory practices which inform her work. Best known for her large scale, semi abstract expressionist paintings, Emma’s compositions are all processes of 'looking to be still' or 'looking to distil'.
Her works are built on a strong foundation of traditional painting and drawing practice, with major works in oils taking many years to complete. This website shares just some of the works from 25 years of practice, included selected works from her personal studio collection, newly listed for sale.

Pottery
‘I enjoy the contrast of working with Clay to my other practices and in getting to create something with a function that people can use everyday. Beautiful, everyday functional objects are the simplest way of improving our daily lives, rituals or chores.
